Yes. As a member, you are strongly advised to join British Cycling. It will give you insurance cover, access to a wealth of information and guidance on all things cycling, as well as discounts and entry to events. Membership is compulsory if you wish to enter some official races.
No, it doesn’t matter what sort of bike you have. Our only stipulation is that you have to be able to keep up with the pace on a club ride, and that can be easier with a lighter ‘road’ (i.e. drop handlebar) bike.
Yes. Wearing a helmet is compulsory on club rides, when taking part in club events, or while wearing club kit.
£20 per year. £10 if you join after 1 July in your first year of membership.
Wearing club kit is not compulsory. However, the distinctive Old Ports ‘red train’ has been a regular sight on the roads of Kent and nationally for 100 years! You’re an Old Port – flaunt it!
The club is not currently set up for children.
No. We have members from all over London and some members have moved away but are still proud to be members. As long as you can get to the ride start point at the appropriate time, it doesn’t matter where you come from.
On Saturday, we meet at the roundabout at the bottom of Corkscrew Hill in West Wickham (junction of Corkscrew Hill and Addington Road) at 10am.
On Sunday we meet at Café Nero, 55 High Street, West Wickham BR4 0NX at 9am (9.30 October to March).
